Prelim...ggRrR

Since our prelim exam is approaching like hurricane and I'm absolutely not yet prepared, I guess I need to temporarily give up my precious indulgences like:

1. taking care of my pet, Azunsion, in pet society.
>>to those bloggers/pet owners, please do take care of my pet for me and FYI, I accept giftsSSs (preferably furniture and wall decors) anytime of the day..

2. downloading torrents
>>been downloading a few lately...most of them are even queued up!

3. and of course...the INTERNET!

whew...but I promise myself that after this hurricane, I'll go food tripping and internet surfing...

ciao!

What Defines You?

Took this test on facebook and guess what the answer is....

"You care a great deal about how you look. You are a very good looking person and everyone seems to think so too."

can't agree more...lol

the Maze, the Twins and the Question

comment back your answer...

In the center of the maze, there are identical twins, each standing in front of an identical door. You are to go on a door that would lead you out. One of the twins is always lying. The other is always telling the truth. You can only ask one question to one of the twins for help. What will you ask to ensure your way out?

worries...worries...worries...

Worries???? I've been experiencing tons of these lately...

1. My major subjects are causing me major problems..tsktsktsk. Probably I just need to study more..

2. My pet Azunsion in pet society is getting poorer and poorer... I need to beg from my friends for them to give me their used clothings, used furnitures and all those things that they are all abundant of... hope I can use a cheat in that application! (maggie told me about the possible cheat but I wasn't able to pursue it..)

3. I've been spending a lot of cash lately...probably the effect of all the depressions! Like today, I've spent more than a hundred in my food intake alone (2 pcs. of siomai, 1 mountain dew, mcdo burger, mcdo float, mcdo twisters) not mentioning my transportation fare..

4. I've only been taking less than 6 hours of sleep.. and it bugs me... not used to it!

whew...the bad thing is, I knew they are now dominant in my everyday living still I'm not doing any action to put them all in trash...

cornfield line

This is the corniest line taught to me by my product trainer, leah, when I was working before in Sykes.I've been using this line frequently...

>If someone throws a corny joke on you, say this reply
"Duol inyoha ug kamaisan, corny man gud kay ka! "
(then make hideous laugh for that person to laugh na lang pud)

So if ever you are a victim of corny lines by your friends, say this line and you'll be the corniest person alive...

the MUST-HAVE-ABILITIES of a call center agent

I didn't know being a call center agent is quite challenging...IN ALL ASPECTS!

First, you need to be able to adapt to the changes that you will be experiencing everyday. A good example is the capacity to be a nocturnal being like in my case, my login time is 2.30am and I don't have any choice but to go to Sykes as early as 10.00pm just to avoid the harsh and dangerous night streets and if you are going to ask me about how I handle myself from 10pm and beyond? I don't even really know how I managed to be able to wait till 2.30am without anything to do.. probably having my other agents to chat with is the key.

Second, you need to be alert and wise in looking for a good desk to sit in for the next 9 hours. Since I'm still a newbie and I still need the help of my supervisors and team Lead, I need to sit near their desks just for easy access. It's really hard to find a desk especially if it's in the queue hours because almost all of the desks are occupied so I guess going to work early is another plus for me.

Third, the ability to protect yourself from IRATE CALLERS! Well, I don't often get irate calls everyday and luckily when I get calls from irate callers, they don't want to speak to an agent but to a manager right away so my main task regarding this issue, get a supervisor to take the call and after that, I'm done...

Fourth, the ability to be awake even if your eyes won't open. In the first few days, a cup of coffee or a glass of EXTRA JOSS would not even do the job so I don't have any choice but to answer my eyes' call of sleep! Well, I do have some of my co-agents to wake me up after an hour! My supervisors will not catch me though since I'm in a sitting position when I sleep with my headset on...so it's still like I'm taking calls.

Fifth, the ability to sleep even if the sun is in its hottest degrees! This ability is probably the easiest one since you are all drained up when you go home and even if the sun is in front of you, it will still not deprive you from the mandatory sleep that you need!My logout time is 11.30am and probably the time that I can go to sleep is around 1pm and everyday I wake up at 7-8pm and then I prepare myself to work again and do the same routine EVERYDAY!I don't even get the chance to watch TV and to clean my room even just for 5 minutes. If you are gonna do a room raid, I would not even care because probably, I would not even notice you sneaking into my room since I'm asleep!

No one told me it would be this tiring and draining! One of the things that forces me to continue taking calls, going to work, sleeping in the middle of the day even if the sun is striking hot is my salary! This is my first work experience so getting my pay every 15 and 30 does all the job of getting this stress out of my body! Whew! I just can't wait for June 15 to come!
ciao!

SYKES experience

Whew! It's been a long time since I posted something in this blog...quite busy now with my work(it still tingles my ears to know that I do have my work now!) But anyway, to those who weren't able to know what's my agenda nowadays, I want y'all to know that I am currently working at SYKES ASIA INC. (a call center here in Cebu). I didn't know how I passed all the interviews and exams but I'm sort of happy being able to try a new thing in my life...this is actually my first work experience so it's kinda cool.

I started last APril 20 and from that day on, I was really busy plus that fact that my schedule is like a roller coaster ride. Right now, I experienced to be in the morning, mid and graveyard shifts and that's just for about a month now. There's a sort of rotation on our schedule so it's kinda cool as well.

The training? hmmm...well, for the first two weeks, I had my language and core skills training. It's all about improving our English communication skills, knowing the basic ways to handle calls and having a little knowledge on the 50 states of America. We were even asked to memorize America's National Anthem! hehe

Right now, I'm having my product training--> this is the nosebleed part! Since my account is connected to AT&T Internet Services and I'm a Technical Support Representative, I am assigned on the troubleshooting part so tons of lecture and discussion should be thrown upon me but I'm handling them well right now.

Last pay day was my first pay day of course and I just can't believe that I'm receiving so much thousands for just the training but I'm saving my pay to buy something for myself probably a laptop or a new desktop..not bad huh!

I'm looking forward of receiving live calls and be on the floor using lots of tools and try to answer all the callers even irates! This is the part that I'm so waiting for and I think that the time is near maybe on the first week of June or last week of May!

And my studies? Well, I already have my study load for next semester and how will I manage to do this? I really don't know!

-->by the way, I use IRESE as my name in SYKES just to make it cute...lol

till my next post! =)
